How does Coordination of Benefits Work?

Coordination of Benefits links members in myGroupHEALTH who have family with active secondary EHC coverage within the GroupHEALTH Family of Companies.

  • myGroupHEALTH will seamlessly create the secondary Coordination of Benefits claims
  • If the primary claim clears it will auto create a secondary claim within and across the clients/organization

What types of claims does Coordination of Benefits work for?

  • Manual claims
  • Member portal claims
  • TELUS Health EDI claims

Why was Coordination of Benefits Created?

To improve member experience:

  • Members will not have to submit claims twice
  • Faster reimbursement of eligible claims
  • Fewer errors experienced by members if Coordination of Benefits note is missed
  • Similar experience to other carriers

To improve employer experience:

  • Efficient claims adjudication
  • More time to focus on value added items
  • Less calls from frustrated members
  • Reduces time to correct member submission errors
