The healing power of compassion in the workplace

77 views 0 May 2, 2024 Updated on October 17, 2024 clienthelp

In recent years, there’s been a significant shift in mental health awareness and its impact on the workplace – not only for employees, but also employers. The theme for Mental Health Week this year, running from May 6-12, 2024, is “the healing power of compassion”.

There are countless reasons, studies, and statistics indicating why mental health support is important, but how can you tell when your employees need additional compassion?

Some red flags to look for in your own organization:

🚩 Patterns or increases in absenteeism

🚩 Higher than average turnover rates

🚩 Rise in tension, conflict, or friction within teams or between employees and management

🚩 Decline in productivity and quality of work, or consistently missing deadlines

🚩 Lack of engagement or morale within the business

🚩 Stigma surrounding mental health and support

Once you recognize the signs indicating a need for mental health support in your organization, you can take the necessary steps to address these issues.

If your plan includes an Employee Assistance Program (EAP/EFAP):
