World Sleep Day

68 views 0 February 29, 2024 Updated on October 17, 2024 clienthelp

Sleep is a critical pillar of health, like nutrition and physical activity. Adults need seven to nine hours of sleep per night, but the average adult falls a few hours short on a regular basis.

March 15 is World Sleep Day; a day focused on bringing awareness to the importance of catching enough Z’s. To recognize the importance of sleep on our wellbeing, we’ve rounded up some of the key benefits of getting enough rest.

  • Improves Memory and Cognitive Functioning
Getting enough sleep helps you stay focused, alert, and able to learn and remember new information effectively.
  • Boosts Immune System
Lack of sleep can make you more susceptible to illness and infections, while adequate sleep can help your body fight off infections and diseases.
  • Enhances Mood and Emotional Well-being
Sleep can help reduce stress, anxiety, and depression, leaving you feeling more relaxed and refreshed.
  • Promotes Physical Health
A good night’s sleep helps your body repair and rejuvenate, promoting healthy growth and development, and reducing the risk of obesity, diabetes, and cardiovascular diseases.
  • Increases Performance and Productivity
Sleep can help you stay focused, motivated, and energized throughout the day, leading to better performance at work or school.
